You will be picked up from your hotel around 8am for the Colca canyon 2 days excursion, you also have a few stops to get you used to the altitude of around 4000 meters and to have a view at the wildlife and fauna. Luckily we saw a few Vicunas, the graceful relatives of Lamas and Alpacas. These small (about 75 cm tall) animals are hard to find because they had been hunted in colonial times. But today they are protected and so the numbers are increasing. After enyoing the wonderful view on the volcanos Ampato, Sabancaya and Corupuna we continued on our way into the canyon. Before we reached our place for this night we had a quick look at the villages of Chivay, Pichollo and Cabanaconde. After 4 hours trip you will arrive at the Chivay town, lunch ( not included) and in the afternoon visit the hot springs of La Calera overnight at your hotel

You'll be picked up from your hotel early in the morning to get to "El Cruz del Condor" in time to see the attraction of this place, the condor. This giant bird with a wing span up to 3.2 meters sleeps and breeds in this region. Every morning they use the upwinds in the canyon to soar high up into the sky before gliding on the morning winds to the coast in search for food. After they had glided far off we drove to visit the villages Yaque and Maca with the colonial churches and the hanging graves, also you will appreciate hanging pre-Inca tombs, impressive andean terraces, lunch at Chivay town (not included). in the afternoon trail to the ruins of Uyo, Uyo, Coporaque, Anfiteatro, Mirador de Ocolle y Yanque. Come back to Chivay an lodge at your hotel.
