RAINBOW TRAIL TOURS

Day 1 : LIMA
Arrival in the Lima airport and transfer to your Hotel (located in Miraflores) .Depending on the arrival time of your international flight we will have the possibility of an optional visit to the gold museum ( not included in the rate )
Day 2 : PUERTO MALDONADO
Breakfast 6am - 730am .Transfer to the airport where you'll take the flight to Puerto Maldonado, upon arrival from Lima, greeting at the airport and transportation to the WASAI Maldonado Lodge, where you will receive a welcoming tropical fruit beverage. You will embark for a 3 to 5 hour motorboat trip up the Tambopata river to WASAI Tambopata Lodge & Research Center (box lunch on route). During the trip we will be able to observe the local farms, while groups of birds pass over the boat. Opportunity to see families of Ronsocos, the largest rodents in the world. Reception, accommodation at the lodge, and lunch. After a short rest you will have a brief introductory walk in the forest nearby to learn basic principles of ecology and hear some wildlife natural history . Return to the lodge for dinner. After dinner we will make our first visit to the forest to observe the nocturnal life of insects, frogs of various colors, and an occasional encounter with nocturnal mammals. We will enjoy the diverse sounds of the jungle which will accompany our first night in amazonia. Sleep in the lodge. (Lunch, Dinner)
Day 3 : MACAW CLAY LICK "COLLPA"
Breakfast 6am - 730am . We will wake up early (4:00am) hot drink and leave for the "Collpa". We will travel up the Tambopata river for two, to arrive to observe from a safe distance one of the greatest spectacles of wildlife: hundreds of parrots and macaws of various species, enjoying their diet of mineral salts on the clay wall. It is an experience that never will be forgotten. you will make a stop on the river bank to have a fruit snack and we will return to the lodge to have breakfast and rest. After lunch we will enter the verdant jungle on a special trail to observe wild life. We will then enter the territory of peccaries, deer, and others, with the possibility to hear or see the tracks of them, or discovering a troop of monkeys travelling through the forest in search of food. Time permitting, you will be able to return to enjoy a relaxing swim in the cascade of the cat. After dinner you can make another trip through the jungle, search for caimans or relax in our lodge surrounded by exotic nocturnal sounds. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
DAY 4 : LAKE SANDOVAL
Breakfast 6am - 730am .After breakfast you will make a trip in boat to the WASAI Maldonado Lodge, in Puerto Maldonado where you will relax in our bungalows and enjoy a tasty lunch. After lunch we will leave and travel for twenty minutes on the Madre de Dios River, to the access trail to Lake Sandoval, a beautiful typical rainforest lake. 5 km hike to the banks of the lake. There we will board a canoe to paddle around the lake enjoying the beauty of the landscape and observing the wildlife, such as kingfishers, herons, hoatzins (unique pre historic looking birds) , monkeys, etc. If we are lucky we could see the family of giant otters which live at the lake. We will have the opportunity to fish piranhas and swim in the lake. Prepare yourself for a spectacular sunset. It is time to begin our return hike to the Madre de Dios River to return to Puerto Maldonado. There we will stay in the modern and comfortable bungalows of WASAI Maldonado Lodge. After dinner we will be able to rest or go around the city on foot or on bicycle. We can enjoy the pool and its cascade surrounded by verdant vegetation. Rest of the night free to enjoy the night life of this welcoming city. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
DAY 5 : PUERTO MALDONADO -CUSCO
Breakfast 6am - 7am. After an early breakfast we will return to Puerto Maldonado for our flight to Cusco, upon Arrival at Cusco airport and transfer to a tourist class Hotel (accommodations based on double occupancy). In the afternoon : Cusco City Tour From 2 PM to 6.30pm .This tour includes the Qoricancha (temple of the sun). The tour bus will drive along the Circunvalacion Road up to four archealogical sites, the famous fortress of Sacsahuaman, then to Q'enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay . The tour includes a Spanish and English speaking guide, a tourist ticket valid for the entrance to various museums and ruins as well.
Day 6 : SACRED VALLEY TOUR
Breakfast 7am-830am .At 9 am an excursion to Sacred Valley of the Incas .Services included: Bus service to the market of Pisaq , Calca , Urubamba , Ruins of Ollantaytambo , and the Chinchero's market. English and Spanish speaking guide provided. Buffet Lunch in a typical restaurant in the town of Urubamba. Return to Cusco at 6,30 PM lodging at your hotel.
Day 7 : MACHUPICCHU TOURS
Breakfast. 4am -5am .At .5,30 am we departure to Machupicchu . Services included : Transfer to the railway station and back , a round trip Train ticket Cusco/Agua Calientes/Cusco,a bus service to the ruins and back , a Boxlunch, a complete Ruin's tour with an English and Spanish speaking guide .Return to Cusco at 7 PM , lodging at your Hotel.
Day 8 : CUSCO PUNO
Breakfast 6am - 730am .Transfer to the train or bus station. Ten hour train or bus ride to Puno , across the scenic high Andes landscapes only dotted by small villages and herds of the llamas and vicuñas. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel (tourist class hotel based on double occupancy) (Breakfast and Buffet Lunc)
DAY 9 : UROS AND TAQUILE ISLANDS
Breakfast 6am - 7am. You will be picked up from your hotel 7,30 AM, after 2 and half hours motorboat you will arrive at the Uros island. Fishermen and hunters inhabit the floating islands of the Uros. The residents of the Uros use the cattail, a type of rush, which grows in the lake, to create the conditions that ensure the islands stay afloat. The dense roots that the plants develop support the island. The roofs are waterproof and the houses are extremely humid because of the surrounding water. At present they speak Quechua and Aymara. Then we will visit the Taquile island , including lunch in the co-operative restaurant, there is also a co-operative shop on the plaza that sells exceptional woolen goods which are not cheap but of very fine quality. Taquile Island is famous for its craft production, particularly for its beautiful textiles. The island is narrow only about 1 KM wide , but 6 to 7 KM long, on Taquile there are numerous pre-Inca and Inca ruins and Inca terracing . You will return in Puno in the afternoon, overnight your hotel (Breakfast, Typical Lunch)
DAY 10 : PUNO - LIMA
Breakfast 7am - 9am .Morning Free in Puno. In the afternoon transfer to the airport to take the flight to Lima, upon arrival and transfer to your Hotel , overnight ( Breakfast )
DAY 11 : TRANSFER OUT
Transfer to the airport and end of the services ( Breakfast ).
